Beautiful Churches in Manila

Some of the beautiful churches we've visited during the past few days:

1. Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod in SM Aura

2. Reconstructed Manila Cathedral

3. Paco Church - located inside the vicinity of Paco Cemetery. I love this place!

Spot.ph just recently posted Top 10 Prettiest Churches in Manila and I was surprised to see our wedding church in the list (more proud to say the church made it to the top 5). It was quite easy for Lester and I to decide to get married here. At first, we considered this church because of its location and privacy since it's located inside West Triangle. But the Church's solemnity and beauty are more inviting that made me feel that this is the place that I want to get married. Happy bride again!

Cooking Fever: Gising-Gising

I cooked this once for my husband to satisfy his spicy taste. I first tried this in Recipes and found it yummy. :) Ingredients: Garlic, chopped Onions (Red), chopped Baguio beans, chopped into pieces Ground Pork Red Chili Pepper, chopped Green Chili Peppers (Siling haba) Coconut milk Salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste 1. Saute onions and garlic. Add the ground pork. 2. Add a little bit of soy sauce to taste.     3. Once the pork is cooked, add Coconut Milk. For this recipe, I used the instant ones (just add water!) but I think it'll taste better if you use those you can buy from the market.  4. Add Baguio beans (not string beans!) and all the chilis - depending on your taste. I used less red ones but separated my share because I'm not really into spicy food (except sisig!) 5. Put salt and pepper to taste 6. Serve This is my first blog to write about recipes so please pardon my instructions. I really do not know...

Worries of a Soon-to-be-Mom

Gestational Diabetes- that’s what my OB has been suspecting that might have two weeks ago when I had my check up. I’m guessing it was the mangoes, juice, and white rice and I thought the amount I was eating was just enough to satisfy my craving. But it seems not- though my endo was not really worried about it because my blood sugar and urine tests show normal results, my OB still insists I might have one. I was even thinking my OB is just over-acting on the situation and even still asked me to see the in-house endo in the hospital where I will give birth. It worries me a lot though – I see my daughter getting bigger everyday. I feel very normal though – I am not a big preggo mom. But with that suspicion, I needed to prick my finger three times a day for two weeks to check my blood sugar. All of these foods are very tempting but I’m doing this for my daughter. With that saying and to tone down the stress level, I’m avoiding hearing negative vibes around me- that I need to do this a...

All for Her

Thirty One weeks and we are almost there. I am still not sure if I’m already well-prepared for the delivery. We only have a few weeks to get stuff for our daughter but it seems to be not easy to look for time to do that. Lester and I have a whole day (at least 12 hours awake) at work and school (for my husband) and by the end of the week, all we want to do is rest at home. We’re going through a lot of big decisions lately and believe us, it’s emotionally and financially exhausting. Decisions that we need to consider our little child as well. It was different when we were just two. All decisions were easy, and it was just ourselves that we take responsibility. But I realize, it’s a journey and a hurdle that couples go through and as parents, we should be able to handle this well. And decisions we will make shall always be for our daughter. Anyway, you’re probably wondering, what’s that decision we need to make? It’s about breastfeeding! For almost all moms, it’s a no-brainer, we ...
