Me Blogging

Thank you for spending time to read my posts. Some of them may be non-sense to you, some may be relevant. I'm just happy expressing herself by sharing my thoughts. Writing started as a past time through diaries, essays for school and now for this blog. I do not intend to make blogging as a living (but if permitted, why not!)- I have a day (or mid-shift) job in a thousand employee organization.

I get inspirations from bloggers out there (can't call them co-bloggers!)- Patty, Alessa, Kelly and some others who express themselves through their blogs. I've written a few blogs even before facebook, twitter and instagram became really popular. But only now that I've decided to be more serious about blogging.

Before finishing this entry, I did some research about blogging. Definitely, write ups will be original or sometimes, I may quote from someone. Some of the pictures may not be original but I will link you to where I got them. To the owner/s of pictures I may post in the future, please leave me a message should you want me to remove them. Same thing goes for those persons I quote or link their blogs. I'm still filling up my blog and I'm still learning how to take good pictures with my digital camera, iPad and phone so please bear with me. :)

If you feel this blog is worth sharing, please go ahead. I envision this blog to be an inspiration to anybody. I would probably not able to reach a million hits but I will be happy if someone leaves me a message telling me I was able to inspire him/her through this blog.

Posts may vary from what I love doing, family, friends, travel, food and a lot more. I'd be happy to share anything especially now that I will be soon starting my own family. I am so excited to share our wedding, our house, first birthday of my future kids, travels, whatever under the sun. So go ahead, read and get inspired. Share if you like it, rant so I can improve. As early as now, I'd like to say thank you for spending time reading my posts.

P.S. I'm not a professional writer, I'm an industrial engineer to be exact. They say engineers are good in math but not in English. I am very poor in vocabulary so I use very basic English words. So please, feel free to correct my english. :)

First Plane Ride

Do you remember the first time you rode the plane? Nowadays, it’s very easy for kids to experience their first plane ride as fares are cheaper. Thanks to budget airlines that once had a vision that every person can ride a plane once in their lives. I took my first plane ride when I was 5 years old. Lucky to experience that young, I was with my mom and my sister when all of us rode the plane for the first time to travel. I had no idea what was this travel is all about, even did not have any knowledge where we’re going. All I knew was that, we’re riding the plane and we were going somewhere far where my dad studied his Master’s degree. Not all kids, during that time, had that chance. And definitely, not all kids had the chance to travel to Europe so I am most thankful to my lola (who’s in US) who gave us this opportunity. Here’s my picture back then. We had a stopover in Hongkong Airport and this innocent kid asked her mom why we were getting down the plane. My mom answered...

For Parents with Newborn: How to Get More Sleep

Not an expert on this one but I just want to share how we managed Sofia's sleep at night. When people ask me if I'm getting enough sleep since Sofia came, they are always surprised to hear that I get enough sleep ever since. Of course the first few weeks were zombie sleeping but it was just because I need to feed my daughter every 2 hours to stimulate my milk. But Sofia did not really (and is not) give us a hard time to get enough sleep.  I've heard some moms whose babies were wide awake and would play in the middle of the night. My daughter never did that. She'd only wake up and cry because of normal stuff like colic, too hot or too cold room temperature, wet diaper or simply wanted to be fed but not at all, because she wanted to play. So for moms with newborns coming, here are my tips. Some I got from a pediatrician. 1. Breastfeed and co-sleep. Of course, so to minimize the need to move. The first two and a half months, co-sleeping and breastfeeding did...

Little Big Thing of the Day: Thermos Cafe

We all know how hot these days have been and our only armor will be water to keep us hydrated. Lately, I have been waking up my husband in the middle of our sleep to get me a glass of water and to turn on our aircon and this has been a habit. My husband’s fat brain (in other words, matabang utak) thought of this brilliant idea to bring a good amount of water upstairs in our room and put the remote of our aircon beside us. To keep the water cold, (I’m sure this preggo doesn’t want to drink warm water when she’s dehydrated) Lester puts out his Thermo Cafe drinking bottle. Don’t get the title wrong, this thermos retains the temperatures of both hot and cold water. For us, we sleep at least six hours and the water is still cold when you wake up even until the afternoon. A good buy, my husband bought this for only a few hundred bucks in New Zealand around three years ago and still works wonders! I think this cost more than a thousand here in Manila but still it’s worth the price....
