Wedding Inspiration: Wedding Reception

Pictures from google and brideandbreakfast

I love rustic and chabby chic wedding themes. It's very feminine, simple and elegant. Chabby chic themes use light colors, more of pastels - pink, peach, pastel green and gray. We're entrusting our reception look to our food supplier. It's much cheaper and still, what's more important is the food! We've requested for lower center tables so our guests will see each other. But even so, table setting doesn't really matter to me. I know my priorities and reception look is quite one of my least.

I enjoy browsing thru blogs and get inspirations. For the past year, google has been my best buddy and bride and breakfast has been my adopted sister. For brides to be out there, keep on reasearching and enjoy looking at wedding pictures. You may not have achieved the kind of look you want on your wedding, but hey! You only plan for your wedding once so enjoy the every moment!

First Plane Ride

Do you remember the first time you rode the plane? Nowadays, it’s very easy for kids to experience their first plane ride as fares are cheaper. Thanks to budget airlines that once had a vision that every person can ride a plane once in their lives. I took my first plane ride when I was 5 years old. Lucky to experience that young, I was with my mom and my sister when all of us rode the plane for the first time to travel. I had no idea what was this travel is all about, even did not have any knowledge where we’re going. All I knew was that, we’re riding the plane and we were going somewhere far where my dad studied his Master’s degree. Not all kids, during that time, had that chance. And definitely, not all kids had the chance to travel to Europe so I am most thankful to my lola (who’s in US) who gave us this opportunity. Here’s my picture back then. We had a stopover in Hongkong Airport and this innocent kid asked her mom why we were getting down the plane. My mom answered...

For Parents with Newborn: How to Get More Sleep

Not an expert on this one but I just want to share how we managed Sofia's sleep at night. When people ask me if I'm getting enough sleep since Sofia came, they are always surprised to hear that I get enough sleep ever since. Of course the first few weeks were zombie sleeping but it was just because I need to feed my daughter every 2 hours to stimulate my milk. But Sofia did not really (and is not) give us a hard time to get enough sleep.  I've heard some moms whose babies were wide awake and would play in the middle of the night. My daughter never did that. She'd only wake up and cry because of normal stuff like colic, too hot or too cold room temperature, wet diaper or simply wanted to be fed but not at all, because she wanted to play. So for moms with newborns coming, here are my tips. Some I got from a pediatrician. 1. Breastfeed and co-sleep. Of course, so to minimize the need to move. The first two and a half months, co-sleeping and breastfeeding did...

Little Big Thing of the Day: Thermos Cafe

We all know how hot these days have been and our only armor will be water to keep us hydrated. Lately, I have been waking up my husband in the middle of our sleep to get me a glass of water and to turn on our aircon and this has been a habit. My husband’s fat brain (in other words, matabang utak) thought of this brilliant idea to bring a good amount of water upstairs in our room and put the remote of our aircon beside us. To keep the water cold, (I’m sure this preggo doesn’t want to drink warm water when she’s dehydrated) Lester puts out his Thermo Cafe drinking bottle. Don’t get the title wrong, this thermos retains the temperatures of both hot and cold water. For us, we sleep at least six hours and the water is still cold when you wake up even until the afternoon. A good buy, my husband bought this for only a few hundred bucks in New Zealand around three years ago and still works wonders! I think this cost more than a thousand here in Manila but still it’s worth the price....
