Monday Thoughts

So many things have been happening recently and I guess, things are so overwhelming. So many things have changed - my family lived in a new house, I got married, I transferred in a new office building- not work (which was easier), I transferred to my husband's house temporarily, I get to spend time with the Manipons only twice a week, sometimes, one and a half and a lot more. These I consider trials as the universe will always say, nothing's constant but change. I'm very much settled living temporarily in my in-laws but in a few we will be (or I will be... again) transferring in our own house. We made a visit yesterday in our house and it's already locked- sign that our move will be very soon.

Having that, I realized I need to get more organized- I need to learn more about time management - my weakness. I still need to know how can I balance work, friends, family (both sides), married life - and soon my kids and of course, myself. I guess prioritization is the key- and there is time for everything. I still have a backlog of to do things after our wedding, and guess what? My wedding dress is still in the box and have yet to be dry-cleaned. Our wedding accessories are still lying somewhere in my cabinet in our house in QC. Everything's still a mess and I need to get an amount of discipline to finish all those errands.

It amazes me how (working) moms are able to manage everything and it reflects in what they do. Early this morning, I told my husband, "Tamad kumilos." But when I say that, it doesn't mean I just get back to bed and sleep. Well, for me, it's all about my phone and reading good stuff over the net that interest me - blogs or more specifically Jenni Epperson's blog. I found myself spending an hour just reading her blog and it amazes me that Jenni writes everything positive in her life - whether, beauty, travel, herself and most especially her family. I first knew about Jenni through StyleBible.ph. A stylist, column writer, a blogger, a wife and a mom, Jenni is a superwoman. She's probably very blessed that it reflects in her blogs and how she writes.

Jenni has inspired me to write today. This superwoman tells me through her blog that there is time for everything - imagine how he made time to write powerful blog entries despite work, friends and family. (not only I found out something in common - she moved to another house also!) Look for your passion, and get inspired. Love the things you do and there will always be time for everything. Manage your time and manage the changes until you live with these. Good vibes, everyone!

Cooking Fever: Gising-Gising

I cooked this once for my husband to satisfy his spicy taste. I first tried this in Recipes and found it yummy. :) Ingredients: Garlic, chopped Onions (Red), chopped Baguio beans, chopped into pieces Ground Pork Red Chili Pepper, chopped Green Chili Peppers (Siling haba) Coconut milk Salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste 1. Saute onions and garlic. Add the ground pork. 2. Add a little bit of soy sauce to taste.     3. Once the pork is cooked, add Coconut Milk. For this recipe, I used the instant ones (just add water!) but I think it'll taste better if you use those you can buy from the market.  4. Add Baguio beans (not string beans!) and all the chilis - depending on your taste. I used less red ones but separated my share because I'm not really into spicy food (except sisig!) 5. Put salt and pepper to taste 6. Serve This is my first blog to write about recipes so please pardon my instructions. I really do not know...

Worries of a Soon-to-be-Mom

Gestational Diabetes- that’s what my OB has been suspecting that might have two weeks ago when I had my check up. I’m guessing it was the mangoes, juice, and white rice and I thought the amount I was eating was just enough to satisfy my craving. But it seems not- though my endo was not really worried about it because my blood sugar and urine tests show normal results, my OB still insists I might have one. I was even thinking my OB is just over-acting on the situation and even still asked me to see the in-house endo in the hospital where I will give birth. It worries me a lot though – I see my daughter getting bigger everyday. I feel very normal though – I am not a big preggo mom. But with that suspicion, I needed to prick my finger three times a day for two weeks to check my blood sugar. All of these foods are very tempting but I’m doing this for my daughter. With that saying and to tone down the stress level, I’m avoiding hearing negative vibes around me- that I need to do this a...

Little Big Things: Baby Needs

Little Javier is halfway on its journey to see the world. Just like preparing for a wedding and moving to a new house, baby preps are just as exciting. I’ve been doing my research lately and my husband and I never get tired of window shopping for baby needs. Here are my top picks that I can’t wait to get for my little one: 1. Breast Pumps Breast milk is still best for babies. Being the eldest, I’ve learned how to feed my siblings while they were young except of course, breast milking them. As far as I can remember, they were (or we were) Promil kids and I was very used to mixing the formula powdered milk and water. But nowadays, breast feeding is very well-promoted. Even hospitals do not allow formula milks for new-born babies. I’m setting aside an amount to invest for breast pumps (and the accessories). After all, you’ll be saving a lot for formula milks. Planning to get myself a manual pump first – just to check and then later on, get an electric one. I’m a workin...
