Bali Vacation Day 1

Lester and I wanted to have our honeymoon out of the country and the place that only came in our minds was Bali. Located in Indonesia, Bali is an island and a province where most of the population are Hindu. And that made my husband also agreed to go to Bali since their food is pork and not beef (most parts of Indonesia are Muslim so pork is rarely available).

We stayed in Centra Taum Seminyak Hotel. We kind of splurged for our accommodation. The hotel is nice, although an old building, interiors are clean and the rooms are really big. We added a little to get a poolside view for us to enjoy the balcony. Bali has lots of reasonable-priced hotels that are really great. If you're patient enough, your will find villas (those you will have your own pool) and pay as low as Php 4,000 per day. I was able to score one, but unfortunately, payments weren't convenient so I chose Centra Taum instead. Lester is not really a beach lover so we're okay not having beach front. We're in Bali for the culture and the rest of the beautiful places there, anyway. (And still, the Philippines has the best beaches in the world!)

We tried Bali's Illy's Restaurant for breakfast since we came early in the hotel for check-in. Kind of pricey but it's still okay to try. After check-in, we strolled around Seminyak and looked around the shops. Leather is also famous in Bali. They have good quality authentic leather that's worth your Rupiah. We also tried their Bakso- street food in Bali. Not really our taste and unfortunately, we were trapped with the price.

It's a Girl!

Finally after 30 weeks, Lester and I are happy to announce that we are having a baby GIRL! It took that long because we’re the kind of couple who’s obedient to the OB- have ultrasound when needed. Last time we checked, the OB did not confirm Little Javier’s gender though she told us that this little one is most likely a baby girl. Lester was still positive to have a baby boy- he still has 40-30% chance. But hey, it doesn’t matter- after all, we can still make another one :).  It must be the genes- my mom gave birth to 5 children- 4 of us are girls and our youngest is a boy (can you just imagine how Little C feels when he’s at home?). Lester was already dreaming of playing with his little one, teaching how to play PS, bike and all those boy stuff while I was already imagining cooking, baking and doing girly stuff with our little Javier- and I won! I remember when I was still on my first and second trimester, I was so into little things for girls that when I go to the mall’...

How I Made It Thru My Laziness

I woke up one morning and thought, I want to shop! But I was too lazy to get up and dress myself to pass by malls before I go to work. And then, I remembered my good friend Zalora. I wasn't really a fan of buying things online (especially huge amounts) because I feel my credit card might get screwed and might end me owing something I did not purchase. Aside from that, I was also not really very confident that I might not get the right size or it's not the one I bought, or simply, I don't like it at all, pala! Until I knew of someone who has tried this online purchasing and so I tried it.  This is already my second time to buy in Zalora. Remember, after being curious of buying online., this time Zalora helped my PMS-ing issues. :)  Zalora has thousands of goods anything from clothes to shoes to accessories, branded or from the marketplace, for men and of course, for the ladies. My favorites come from Spring Fling and Something Borrowed. Affordable, classy and...

Cooking Fever: Gising-Gising

I cooked this once for my husband to satisfy his spicy taste. I first tried this in Recipes and found it yummy. :) Ingredients: Garlic, chopped Onions (Red), chopped Baguio beans, chopped into pieces Ground Pork Red Chili Pepper, chopped Green Chili Peppers (Siling haba) Coconut milk Salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste 1. Saute onions and garlic. Add the ground pork. 2. Add a little bit of soy sauce to taste.     3. Once the pork is cooked, add Coconut Milk. For this recipe, I used the instant ones (just add water!) but I think it'll taste better if you use those you can buy from the market.  4. Add Baguio beans (not string beans!) and all the chilis - depending on your taste. I used less red ones but separated my share because I'm not really into spicy food (except sisig!) 5. Put salt and pepper to taste 6. Serve This is my first blog to write about recipes so please pardon my instructions. I really do not know...
